Most modern cruise ships need to be dry docked for inspection, maintenance and class surveys every five years and once they reach 15 years of age they need to be dry docked at least twice within a five-year period. Dry docks typically last up to 14 days at a cost of up to $2 million per day and involve regular maintenance including hull cleaning, exterior painting of the structure, inspection of pipes, restoration of exterior deck flooring, and installation of enhanced HVAC filter systems


Seabourn says the ship has a draft of 21 feet and propelled diesel-generated electricity which turns twin screws and two bow thrusters. It also has two stabilizers and employs advanced wastewater treatment technology.

There are 225 total suites on board. Silver level and above passengers receive free internet and phone calls, a complimentary massage, a day pass to the spa, discounted alcohol purchases, and access to special offers. Amenities for all guests include 24-hour room service, laundry, and tip and gratuities.

All dining venues on board are complimentary, and guests can dine whenever and with whoever they wish. The Restaurant is the main dining room for all 3 meals, Restaurant 2 is the alternative menu serving seven-course menus. The Colonnade is a casual restaurant with a buffet as well as waiter service. In the evening it transforms into a bistro-style restaurant with themed-menus. The Patio Grill is the most casual, as it is served in tables surrounding the pool area. A continental breakfast can be found in the Observation Bar for early risers.

During the day, guests can enjoy the Club Pool Area or the Patio Pool which each have 1 pool and 2 whirlpools, as well as sunbathing areas. There is also a 9-hole putting green, deck games, a fitness center and motion studio, a card room, and a spa. The Spa spans 2 decks and has an outdoor relaxation deck, treatment rooms, steam room, saunas, thermal suite, spa pool, and a beauty salon.

Nightly entertainment can be found at The Grand Salon, the Observation Bar, or in The Club.

  • Smoking (except for electronic cigarettes) is prohibited in all passenger cabins,and on balconies in Category B Suites on Seabourn Pride, Spirit, and Legend
  • Cigarette smokingis permitted on suite balconies only on Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn, and Quest, and, depending on the ship, on one side of Observation Bar/Lounge, one side of the Sky Bar, and one side of Seabourn Square Terrace and Club Terrace
  • Cigar and pipe smoking is permitted only on open decks on Seabourn Pride, Spirit & Legend, and only on the starboard side deck area of Seabourn Square Terrace on Seabourn Odyssey, Sojourn, and Quest.

    UPDATE: In December 2016 smoking will no longer be allowed on passengers cabin balconies, nor will it be permitted in the Observation Lounge. The new policy allows smoking on the starboard side of the Sky Bar and on the starboard side of the aft open terrace. E-cigarettes are allowed in passenger cabins.
