You can expect 2813 passengers on a typical sailing. This means that the Norwegian Star has a space ratio of 32.6 . (A space ratio less than 33 means that you may find the ship crowded in areas. A space ratio greater than 39 means that there should be plenty of space for each passenger.)
The Norwegian Star has 1084 crew members on board. There are 3 passengers for every crew member on board. There are no self serve laundromats on this cruise ship. The ship has 2 pools and 8 hot tubs.
The ship last major refurbishment was in 2010.
NORWEGIAN STAR was intended for service with Star Cruises but following the acquisition of NCL and a review of tonnage deployment it was decided that the ship and her sister would be deployed with NCL.

Here is a video tour of cabin 9732:
My inside cabin on deck 9 was just fine. The bed was very comfortable and the darkness without windows made it easy to sleep. Never knew what time of day it was though.
BA balcony cabin 10126.Veru mush center of ship above the atrium area.Connecting cabin but we had no problems with that. One squeaky drawer, but good storage space and nice size bath. Excellent location near elevators so very convenient to spa and Garden Buffet
NCL has moved one of the lounges to where the Galleria Shops were located on deck 7. The cabins on the floor above (Deck 8 Aft) are complaining of noise from the lounge.
It has been reported that staterooms 12000 and 12502 have a door seperating the bedroom and the living area. 12002 does not have a seperation between these areas. Also there is no second bedroom in these cabins.
Our cabin 12013 was ridiculous. It was sold to us as ok for four-no way!! If we weren't a sane family we would now all be dead. It was the smallest and least attractive of all the cabins we've ever sailed-30 cruises. It would not be ok for two. So, do not book this cabin or any of the insides on deck 12. NCL redid this deck and I believe the rest of the insides on this deck are the same. Not fit for anyone.
