The Carnival Fantasy started sailing in 1990 . The Carnival Fantasy has 1028 cabins. 5 percent of the staterooms on board have balconies.
You can expect 2467 passengers on a typical sailing. This means that the Carnival Fantasy has a space ratio of 28.5 . (A space ratio less than 33 means that you may find the ship crowded in areas. A space ratio greater than 39 means that there should be plenty of space for each passenger.)
The Carnival Fantasy has 980 crew members on board. There are 3 passengers for every crew member on board. There are self serve laudromats on this ship. The ship has 2 pools and 6 hot tubs.

The ship last major refurbishment was in 2010.

FANTASY is the lead member of the Fantasy class series of buildings delivered throughout the 1990's to Carnival Cruises lines.

Cabin E2 Right outside the door is the main stewards closet where all the cabin stewards fill their carts with supplies for the day. They started working at 5:30 everymorning and all we heard was this door slamming shut constantly. One morning they even dropped several glasses and they broke in front of our door.

Cabin V2 - I found it to be quite small and since the staircase was right next to it, not private at all. Inside the cabin I notice you had to have the closet door closed completely in order for the bathroom door to open.

Cabin R40 - The first couple of nights we heard a light banging...not enough to keep us awake, but the next 2 nights it was VERY LOUD banging. We do not like to complain, but we told our cabin steward the next morning after the first night of no sleep. He said there had been prior complaints and no one could ever discover why there was a noise. He advised calling guest services if it happened again. That night it did happen again...very loud banging....no way to sleep.

We were on Fantasy Dec 5, a 5 night cruise out of Mobile. This was my first experience on this class of Carnival Ship. I have previously been on Glory, Conquest, Splendor, Triumph and Spirit.
I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the ship. The cabins have been upgraded with flat panel TV's, new bedding and bathroom fixtures.
Food and entertainment were the same quality as I have found on other Carnival sailings.
We were in cabin R189. It took some getting use to the fact that the public areas were on the upper decks.

Cabin V5: It is directly under a couple of VERY NOISY gym weight machines. From 6:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m., there is constant banging from up above. Two thirds of every day, we heard banging from our ceiling. It was terribly annoying.

I understand there are no hair dryers!! Correct?

(9) From: GUEST

Reply to Sharon - Yes, each cabin has a hairdryer. However many people like to bring their ownLaughing

Category 6B- cabin M225 states it can sleep 4 passengers but in actuality there are 2 twins/king and a murphy bed. The 4th is a cot that the room steward brought in the first night and left in the cabin until the cruise was over. No room to walk- actally had to step on beds to get to the bathroom. Perfect for 3 passengers NOT 4. But overall great location!
